Track Name: Absolution
I am everything lost
I am everything lost, abandoned, and broken
Without you

I am everything wrong
I am everything wrong; I’m Saul and I’m Judas
And I’m Thomas, too

I’m the blood in your veins
I’m the air that you breathe, the air that you breathe
So talk to me

And come back home
Come back home

I am everything lost
I am barren, a desert, a valley, an island
Without you

I’m the still and the storm
I am revelation, revolution
So walk with me

And come back home
Come back home

The sound of my heart beating
Is the same sound I hear when you speak
But the world finds its way into my lungs
So I forget to breathe, oh how I need to breathe your air

I’m either broken or breaking so please be my absolution
Track Name: Younger Lives
Innocence is fleeting and wasted on the young
Before our time was money, ambition filled our lungs
Now we bask in our indifference, content to toe the line
Faded photos and an ordered satisfaction suit us fine

There were days when we felt anger, tortured by the game
Now we take our bigger families into stores with bigger names
That brave desire for justice wasn’t washed away one night
But evaporated slowly in the warmth of younger lives

Have we really lost our need for revolution?
Or is it hidden under necessary tact?
The water’s getting deeper and they can’t swim on their own
Do we really have to choose between them?

Somewhere, for a moment, we saw beyond ourselves
A passing glimpse of truth between the books upon our shelves
Now we practice our religion when it fits our busy lives
One day crippled by the weight of every little compromise
Track Name: Long Walk Home
The radio covers the silence
But the silence runs much deeper than the sound
I don’t know if it will ever be the same
But maybe change is all that keeps us all around

It’s a long walk home
But the lights are getting brighter
It’s a long walk home
But the road is wide and worn
I haven’t always loved the way I wanted to
But I would walk through anything for you

I always run toward the fire
And I know you’d rather rest here is the rain
Hang the captain, let the conversation drown
We’d most likely float in circles anyway

It’s a long walk home
But the lights are getting brighter
It’s a long walk home
But the road is wide and worn
I haven’t always loved the way I wanted to
But I would walk through anything for you

It’s been a long night and my feet are failing now
By tomorrow we’ll forget this anyhow
It seems so petty but we’d take it to the grave
But I will never, I will never run away
You have me ‘til my dying day
Track Name: No Shelter
The sky is gonna fall down and I can’t find no shelter
The sky is gonna fall down and I can’t find no shelter
The places I have known, they aren’t there at all
I can’t find no shelter, the sky is gonna fall

This water’s got me stranded and I am going nowhere
This water’s got me stranded and I am going nowhere
I can’t see dry land and this raft far too small
I can’t find no shelter, the sky is gonna fall

The road is getting longer, I’ve lost my destination
The road is getting longer, I’ve lost my destination
A thousand miles from home and I can barely crawl
I can’t find no shelter, the sky is gonna fall

The sky is gonna fall down and I can’t find no shelter
The sky is gonna fall down and there’s not any shelter
Maybe when it’s through I will understand
Maybe when it’s over I’ll be a better man
Track Name: Believe Me
I don’t know if you believe me
But in all of this I only blame myself
There’s things I’m thinking you might never understand
But I never wanted any of this

I don’t know if you believe me
But this is something I just couldn’t see
I slept through the prairies til the mountains shaped the road
Then I woke and was surprised to see them

I’ve been thinking I’ve let you down
I don’t think, I don’t think it’s too late to turn around
With you

I don’t know if you believe me
But I remember how you looked that day
How your laughter undid every drop of rain
And sent the clouds and any worry miles away

I’ve been thinking I’ve let you down
I don’t think, I don’t think it’s too late to turn around
With you
Track Name: Stained Glass Voices
We talk about our bookstores
We talk about the weather
We paint our shirts with love
Though we can’t stand together
So watch the world go by
It’s tough to move alone
We’ll set the world on fire
From inside our homes

Speak now, no one is listening

We talk about our bookstores
We talk about the weather
What will they know of love
But how we stand together
Our hearts were chained with greed
These hands were stained with sin
These hands can change the world
Our hearts are free again

Speak now, is nobody listening?
Track Name: Great Fiction
I believed a promise that washed away like sand
I believed a lie that let me down again and again and again

I’ve seen the light but the night doesn’t stop coming ‘round
But there is no place so lost you can never be found
I’ve lived and let the great fiction pull me down for way to long

Now I’ve made a promise I know I’ll break
It’s the same promise that I’ve made again and again and again

I’ve seen the light but the night doesn’t stop coming ‘round
But there is no place so lost you can never be found
I’ve lived and let the great fiction pull me down for way to long

I’ve been wrong
Track Name: December
The door was opened slowly to December
And through the scarves his face was dim and pale
The wind was still and left him only silence
He tried to smile to hide his grief but failed

The neighbours’ faces pressed against their windows
They hadn’t seen him step outside for days
He walked until the ocean stole the sunlight
Then turned around and walked back home again

He’d seen them off just three days before Christmas
“I’ll be there in a couple days,” he said
The plane was heading east to Philadelphia
But it went down in Illinois instead

He blamed himself for staying in California
And cursed the One who let his girls die
His congregation quoted Jeremiah
And left him with the guilt of wondering why

Oh what peace we often forfeit
Oh what needless pain we bear
In His arms He’ll take and shield you
And you’ll find a solace there

He told himself that death would find him ready
“There’s no one left to love before I die”
He longed to finally rest without the heartache
At last he’d find his freedom by and by
Track Name: No Man Is An Island
I’ve seen the way they look at me
But they see the way I look back
They don’t speak a word
But their eyes, they sing a thousand different songs
I’d never sing along

It’s so cold out there; I think I’ll stay inside
With my gloves and scarves and hats
Once the cold gets in you there is no going back
Or so I’ve been told

I try hard to not be alone
But I’m still so lonely
I want nothing more than to give them my love
But I don’t know what love is

I’ve been to places that I shouldn’t go
But I would never tell a soul
It’s hard enough living every day pretending I’m alright
Without their self-righteous staring eyes

I’ll look up but always away
Cause they see right through me
I want nothing more than to find love
But I don’t know what love is
No, I don’t know what love is
Track Name: River Song
In the river, I will wash, oh
Wash the dark and cold away
I will lay down, lay down my burdens there
Where I know I’ve found my way

I was walking, going nowhere
Looking straight at my demise
But I knew I was forgiven
When that river caught my eye

In the river, I will wash, oh
Wash the dark and cold away
I will lay down, lay down my burdens there
Where I know I’ve found my way

Now I’m living in the daylight
It always glimmers through the rain
Since I cast off those cold shackles
Oh, I have not been the same

In the river, I will wash, oh
Wash the dark and cold away
I will lay down, lay down my burdens there
Where I know I’ve found my way

When that day comes, with rejoicing
I will put on my white robe
And I’ll shout my hallelujahs
Walking down those streets of gold

In the river, I will wash, oh
Wash the dark and cold away
I will lay down, lay down my burdens there
Where I know I’ve found my way
Track Name: The Weight
I feel the weight, I feel the weight on my shoulders
I hear them calling; their heavenly banter grows colder
I hope they're right

The light barely flickers; this darkness, it sticks to my bones
This compass is shattered; it points in every direction but home
I can’t see the scars

I see the River, I glimpse the River; it’s waiting
I take a drink and the novelty rips at my insides
But I know it’s right
